(headquartered in Tamba City, Hyogo Prefecture; Keiji Yamaguchi, President; hereinafter “Maply”), SBI Sumishin Net Bank, Limited (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Noriaki Maruyama, President (CEO); hereinafter “SBI Sumishin Net Bank”), THEMIX Green Co: (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Takumi Takahashi; hereinafter “THEMIX Green”, a subsidiary of SBI Sumishin Net Bank), and Salesforce Japan, Inc. (Head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Shinichi Koide; hereinafter “Salesforce”) have agreed to establish a forestry DX project in Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture, to promote forest-based J-credits and to realize a forestry DX project. (head office: Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture; president: Morito Kimura) and Ohara Forest Association (head office: Unnan City, Shimane Prefecture; president: Yukio Adachi) to promote forest-based J-credits and realize forestry DX.

■Background
MAPLEY, SBI Sumishin Net Bank, THEMIX Green, and Salesforce have agreed to jointly build a digital platform business for forestry and forestry administration DX business and carbon credit issuance by leveraging the strengths of each company and integrating their respective services and know-how. Through this project, the companies will work to maximize the value of forests. Through this project, the four companies aim to maximize the value of forests, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to the development of a sustainable society.

※The J-Credit System is a system under which the government certifies as “credits” the amount of CO2 emission reductions resulting from the introduction of energy-saving equipment and the use of renewable energy, as well as the amount of CO2 absorption resulting from appropriate forest management. This system is a developmental integration of the Domestic Credit System and the Offset Credit System (J-VER), and is administered by the government.

■Contents of Agreement
The four companies have concluded an agreement with Shimane Prefecture’s Unnan City, Iishi Forest Association, and Ohara Forest Association, and have decided to cooperate and collaborate on the following matters in order to verify the realization of business schemes and forestry DX using the J-Credit System.

・Verification of business schemes for the creation and sale of forest-derived credits
・Matters related to DXing of various applications and procedures related to forestry
・Matters related to DXing the forestry platform

■Future Development
In the future, we will collaborate with other local governments to establish business models for carbon credit and forestry DX projects, and also consider the creation of credits other than those derived from forests and the establishment of carbon offsetting methods.
